Astra Quanta Q6-29
The Astra Quanta Q6-29 is a high-performance 6 GHz point-to-point (PTP) radio equipped with a removable dual-polarized parabolic antenna delivering 29 dBi gain and a 5x5° beamwidth. Optimized for long-range connections up to 80 kilometers, it provides reliable high-capacity links for backhaul or enterprise connectivity applications.
Operating in the 6000–6425 MHz frequency range, the Q6-29 supports channel widths from 3.5 MHz to 56 MHz, with net throughput of up to 650 Mbps in 56 MHz, 460 Mbps in 40 MHz, and 230 Mbps in 20 MHz channels. The radio utilizes MIMO 2x2 with SC-FDE technology and supports 14 modulation and coding schemes from QPSK 1/4 to QAM256 7/8, enabling robust and efficient spectrum usage.
The Q6-29 features TDD duplexing with configurable uplink/downlink ratios (50:50 to 92:8) and airframe durations (1, 2, 5, 10 ms). Its advanced capabilities include automatic bitrate and transmit power control, automatic distance learning, DFS/radar detection, and built-in spectrum analyzer and antenna alignment tools for simplified installation and interference management.
Networking functionality includes Layer-2 switching, VLAN 802.1q, IEEE 802.1p QoS, and transparent Ethernet transport. The unit is powered via a combo Gigabit Ethernet/SFP interface (up to 15 W) and supports AC, DC, and PoE power options. With its large 700 mm parabolic antenna and robust design, the Q6-29 is ideal for high-capacity, long-distance PTP links in challenging environments.
