Astra Quanta Q5-28
The Astra Quanta Q5-28 is a high-performance 5 GHz point-to-point unit with an integrated dual-polarized antenna providing 28 dBi gain and 5×5° beamwidth. Designed for long-distance links up to 80 km, the Q5-28 delivers stable connectivity for demanding network deployments.
Operating across 4900–6000 MHz, it supports flexible channel widths from 3.5 MHz to 56 MHz. Net throughput is up to 650 Mbps in 56 MHz channels, 460 Mbps in 40 MHz, and 230 Mbps in 20 MHz. The device uses MIMO 2x2 with SC-FDE, providing reliable links even in high-interference environments, and offers 14 modulation schemes from QPSK 1/4 to QAM256 7/8 for optimized link adaptation.
It supports TDD and H-FDD duplex modes, configurable uplink/downlink ratios from 50:50 to 92:8, and air frame durations from 1 to 10 ms. Features like automatic bitrate control, transmit power control, distance learning, DFS/radar detection, and a built-in spectrum analyzer simplify deployment and improve link reliability.
Networking functions include Layer-2 switching, VLAN 802.1q, IEEE 802.1p QoS, and transparent Ethernet transport. The radio has a combo Gigabit Ethernet/SFP interface and supports up to 15 W power. Its robust design makes it ideal for high-throughput, long-range point-to-point connections.
