Astra Quanta Q5-29

The Astra Quanta Q5-29 is a 5 GHz point-to-point (PTP) radio with a removable 29 dBi dual-polarized parabolic antenna (5×5°). It supports up to 80 km links and provides high throughput with advanced interference mitigation and automatic link optimization.

Astra Quanta Q5-29

The Astra Quanta Q5-29 is a high-performance 5 GHz point-to-point radio designed for medium-to-long-range connectivity. Featuring a removable dual-polarized parabolic antenna with 29 dBi gain and 5×5° beamwidth, the Q5-29 supports links up to 80 km.

It operates in the 4900–6000 MHz range, with flexible channel widths from 3.5 MHz to 56 MHz. Net throughput reaches up to 650 Mbps in 56 MHz channels, 460 Mbps in 40 MHz, and 230 Mbps in 20 MHz. MIMO 2x2 with SC-FDE ensures robust and reliable links even in interference-prone environments, while 14 modulation and coding schemes (QPSK 1/4 to QAM256 7/8) allow precise link adaptation.

The unit supports both TDD and H-FDD duplex modes, with configurable uplink/downlink ratios from 50:50 to 92:8 and air frame durations from 1 to 10 ms. Automatic bitrate control, transmit power adjustment, distance learning, DFS/radar detection, and built-in spectrum analysis simplify deployment and improve reliability.

Networking features include Layer-2 switching, VLAN 802.1q, IEEE 802.1p QoS, and transparent Ethernet transport. The radio uses a combo Gigabit Ethernet/SFP interface (up to 15 W) and supports AC/DC/PoE powering options. The Q5-29 is ideal for high-throughput, long-distance point-to-point links requiring directional antenna flexibility.
