Astra Quanta Q5-E

The Astra Quanta Q5-E is a 5 GHz point-to-point (PTP) radio with 2 N-type connectors for external antennas. It supports extremely long-distance links (200+ km), delivers up to 650 Mbps throughput in 56 MHz channels, and includes advanced interference mitigation, automatic bitrate/power control, TDD/H-FDD operation, and Layer-2 Ethernet features.

Astra Quanta Q5-E

The Astra Quanta Q5-E is a high-capacity 5 GHz point-to-point radio designed for long-haul connectivity. With dual N-type (F) connectors for external antennas, it supports links over 200 kilometers under optimal conditions, providing reliable backhaul for carrier, enterprise, and remote network deployments.

Operating in the 4900–6000 MHz frequency range, the Q5-E supports flexible channel widths from 3.5 MHz up to 56 MHz. It delivers net throughput of up to 650 Mbps in 56 MHz channels, 460 Mbps in 40 MHz channels, and 230 Mbps in 20 MHz channels. MIMO 2x2 with SC-FDE ensures robust link performance, while 14 modulation and coding schemes (QPSK 1/4 to QAM256 7/8) allow fine-tuned spectral efficiency and link adaptation.

The unit supports both TDD and H-FDD duplex modes, with configurable uplink/downlink ratios from 50:50 to 92:8 and air frame durations from 1 to 10 ms. Automatic bitrate control, transmit power adjustment, distance learning, DFS/radar detection, and built-in spectrum analysis simplify deployment and improve link reliability in challenging RF environments.

Networking capabilities include Layer-2 switching, VLAN 802.1q, IEEE 802.1p QoS, and transparent Ethernet transport. The radio is powered via a combo Gigabit Ethernet/SFP interface (up to 15 W), compatible with AC, DC, and PoE options. The Q5-E is ideal for extremely long-range, high-throughput point-to-point applications requiring external antenna flexibility.
