Astra Evolution E5-BSE
The Astra Evolution E5-BSE is a 5 GHz outdoor base station sector designed for long-range, high-capacity wireless deployments. It supports two external antennas via N-type connectors and provides point-to-multipoint connectivity for distances exceeding 40 kilometers.
The unit operates on channels from ten to eighty megahertz and delivers up to 800 Mbps throughput in an 80 MHz channel, ensuring robust performance for demanding applications. It uses MIMO 2x2 and OFDM 64/128 technologies to maximize spectral efficiency and maintain stable links in congested environments.
Advanced radio features include automatic bitrate and transmit power control, dynamic distance learning, configurable uplink/downlink ratios, airframe timing adjustment from one to ten milliseconds, and built-in spectrum analysis and antenna alignment tools. DFS and radar detection capabilities enable compliant operation in shared frequency bands.
Networking features include Ethernet-over-IP and IP-over-IP tunnels, multipool NAT with H.323 support, VLAN management, QoS prioritization via IEEE 802.1p, and integration with Astra’s proprietary MINT protocol. Voice and RTP-aware superpacketing ensures low-latency performance for real-time applications.
The base station offers a Gigabit Ethernet interface with SFP and sync support and consumes up to twenty watts. Power options include AC, DC, and PoE. Centralized management is available through web GUI, SNMP, SSH, and EMS NEXT for monitoring and remote software updates.
Housed in a rugged, weatherproof enclosure rated IP66 and IP67, the Evolution E5-BSE provides reliable wireless service under harsh environmental conditions, ideal for enterprise, carrier, and backhaul networks.
