Astra Evolution E5-BSQ
The Astra Evolution E5-BSQ is a high-performance 5 GHz outdoor base station sector designed for long-range, high-capacity point-to-multipoint networks. It features an integrated dual-polarized beamforming antenna with 21 dBi gain, a 90° horizontal by 8° vertical beamwidth, and a 20° AZ-steerable beam, allowing precise coverage optimization over distances up to 30 kilometers.
The unit supports channel widths from 10 to 80 MHz and achieves up to 800 Mbps net throughput in an 80 MHz channel. Advanced radio technologies, including MIMO 2x2 and OFDM 64/128, ensure efficient spectral usage and robust performance in dense or interference-prone environments.
Radio features include automatic bitrate and transmit power control, distance learning, configurable uplink/downlink ratios (50:50 to 92:8), adjustable airframe timing (1–10 ms), DFS/radar detection, and built-in spectrum analyzer and antenna alignment tools for simplified installation and regulatory compliance.
Networking capabilities include Ethernet-over-IP and IP-over-IP tunnels, multipool NAT with H.323 support, VLAN and QoS prioritization (IEEE 802.1p, IP TOS/DSCP), and compatibility with Astra’s proprietary MINT protocol. Voice and RTP-aware superpacketing ensures low-latency delivery for real-time applications.
The base station provides a Gigabit Ethernet interface with SFP and sync support, consuming up to 35 W, with AC, DC, and PoE power options. Its rugged outdoor enclosure is IP66/IP67 rated for dust and water protection, making the E5-BSQ ideal for flexible, high-capacity wireless networks requiring steerable coverage and long-range performance.
