Astra Quanta 6-28
The Astra Quanta Q6-28 is a high-performance 6 GHz point-to-point (PTP) radio featuring an integrated dual-polarized parabolic antenna with 28 dBi gain and a 5x5° beamwidth. Designed for long-distance links up to 80 kilometers, it provides reliable high-capacity connectivity for backhaul, enterprise, and critical infrastructure networks.
Operating in the 6000–6425 MHz frequency range, the Q6-28 supports channel widths from 3.5 MHz to 56 MHz, delivering net throughput of up to 650 Mbps in 56 MHz, 460 Mbps in 40 MHz, and 230 Mbps in 20 MHz channels. The radio employs MIMO 2x2 with SC-FDE technology and supports 14 modulation and coding schemes, from QPSK 1/4 to QAM256 7/8, for efficient spectrum utilization and robust link performance.
The Q6-28 operates in TDD mode with configurable uplink/downlink ratios (50:50 to 92:8) and adjustable airframe durations (1, 2, 5, 10 ms). Advanced features include automatic bitrate and transmit power control, automatic distance learning, DFS/radar detection, and built-in spectrum analyzer and antenna alignment tools, simplifying deployment and interference management.
Networking features include Layer-2 switching, VLAN 802.1q, IEEE 802.1p QoS, and transparent Ethernet transport. The unit is powered via a combo Gigabit Ethernet/SFP interface (up to 15 W) and supports AC, DC, and PoE options. With its high-gain integrated antenna and robust design, the Q6-28 is ideal for high-capacity, long-distance PTP links in challenging environments.
